Modelling, not advice
These tools are a modelling aid for general insight, based on 2026/27 UK tax rules. They are not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and do not take into account your full financial circumstances. You should consult a qualified, FCA-authorised adviser or an accountant before making any financial decision.
Your data
We do not store the figures you enter unless you explicitly ask us to, by downloading a report or asking us to email a result. Your inputs stay in your browser (saved locally so a reload does not lose them) and are not sent to our servers otherwise. If you give us your email to be notified of new features, we store only that email, and you can remove it at any time from the unsubscribe page.
Tax year
All calculations use 2026/27 England rates. Thresholds, rates, and entitlements may change. The constants used are listed in the source code and are labelled with verification status.
Funded childcare hours rate
Lost funded hours are valued using the Department for Education 2026/27 national average funding rates, which vary by age: about £6.60 per hour for 3 and 4 year olds, rising to £10.91 per hour for children aged 9 months to 3 years. These are national averages. Your local provider rate will differ, and the actual cost of replacement childcare in your area may be higher or lower.
Simplifications
The tool models a single employment income. It does not model investment income, rental income, partnership profits, or multiple PAYE sources. The salary sacrifice shown is indicative only: actual pension annual allowance, tapering, and scheme rules vary by individual. The tool does not constitute a pension illustration.
No guarantee of accuracy
Every reasonable effort has been made to ensure accuracy. However, no warranty is given as to the correctness or completeness of the figures. HMRC is the authoritative source for all tax and benefit rules. Always use HMRC or Citizens Advice for definitive guidance.
Current version
This is the current version of the tools (constants version 2026/27.3, figures last verified against gov.uk and gov.scot on 30 June 2026). We are actively adding features and refining the calculations. Leave your email to be notified when new features land.
